Privacy Policy

🔒WingWatch Nigeria is built for passengers, not advertisers. We do not sell your data. We do not show you ads. We collect only what is necessary to help you file claims and exercise your rights.
1. Who We Are
WingWatch Nigeria Limited operates the WingWatch Nigeria platform at wingwatch.ng and wingwatch.com.ng. We are an independent passenger rights platform registered in Nigeria. For privacy enquiries, contact us at privacy@wingwatch.ng
2. What Data We Collect
We collect the following data only when you voluntarily provide it:
- ✓Name, email address, and phone number when you submit a claim
- ✓Flight details including airline, route, date, and booking reference
- ✓Description of your complaint and ticket amount paid
- ✓Delay Diary entries you create (stored locally on your device)
3. What We Do Not Collect
- ✗We do not collect payment card or bank account information
- ✗We do not track your location
- ✗We do not use advertising cookies or tracking pixels
- ✗We do not create user profiles or sell data to third parties
- ✗We do not collect data from children under 18
4. How We Use Your Data
Data you provide when submitting a claim is used exclusively to: forward your complaint to the relevant airline's consumer protection team; copy your complaint to the NCAA Consumer Protection Department where applicable; send you a confirmation email with your claim reference number; and maintain a record of your claim for follow-up purposes. We do not use your data for marketing without your explicit consent.
5. Who We Share Your Data With
When you submit a claim, your complaint details are shared with: the airline named in your complaint (their consumer protection department); and the NCAA Consumer Protection Department as the regulatory body. This sharing is the core purpose of the platform and is necessary to process your claim. We do not share your data with any other third party except our infrastructure providers (Supabase for database storage, Resend for email delivery, and Vercel for hosting) who process data on our behalf under data processing agreements.
6. Data Storage and Security
Your claim data is stored securely in a Supabase PostgreSQL database hosted on servers within the European Union. We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (HTTPS) and at rest. Access to the database is restricted to authorised WingWatch Nigeria personnel only.
7. Delay Diary
Entries you create in the Delay Diary are stored locally on your device using your browser's localStorage. This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to our servers unless you explicitly submit it as part of a claim.
8. Your Rights
Under Nigerian data protection law (NDPR) you have the right to: access the personal data we hold about you; request correction of inaccurate data; request deletion of your data; and withdraw consent for processing at any time. To exercise these rights, email privacy@wingwatch.ng
9. Data Retention
We retain claim data for 3 years from the date of submission, which corresponds to the limitation period for civil claims in Nigeria. After this period, data is permanently deleted. You may request earlier deletion by contacting us.
10. Cookies
WingWatch Nigeria uses only essential technical cookies required for the platform to function. We do not use advertising, tracking, or analytics cookies. No cookie consent banner is required as we only use strictly necessary cookies.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes by email. The date of the most recent update is shown at the top of this page.
