Your Rights as a Passenger
These are legally enforceable rights. Every airline operating in Nigeria must comply. Print this page and present it to airline staff if needed.
Flight Delay — 2 Hours
If your domestic flight is delayed by 2 or more hours, the airline must provide meals and refreshments free of charge. They must also keep you informed with regular updates.
Refreshments + CommunicationOvernight Stranding (10pm–4am)
If your flight is delayed or cancelled leaving you stranded between 10:00 PM and 4:00 AM, the airline must provide hotel accommodation, transport to/from the hotel, and meals.
Hotel + Transport + MealsFlight Cancellation
You are entitled to a full refund within 7 days OR re-routing on the next available flight at no extra cost. The airline cannot simply reschedule without your consent.
Full Refund within 7 daysMissing Luggage
If your luggage is missing, you are entitled to ₦10,000 first needs payment immediately while the airline searches. The airline has 7 days to locate it on domestic flights.
₦10,000 immediate paymentDenied Boarding
If you are denied boarding despite holding a confirmed ticket, the airline must re-route you immediately or refund your fare, plus provide compensation for the inconvenience.
Re-route + CompensationDowngraded Seating
If placed in a lower class than you paid for, the airline must immediately reimburse the price difference plus compensate you 30% of the ticket price within 30 days.
Refund + 30% of ticket priceRight to Information
You have the right to know the full schedule, fare breakdown, baggage allowance, and any changes to your flight. Airlines must communicate delays and cancellations proactively.
Mandatory disclosureRight to File Complaints
Every airline must have a designated consumer protection officer. If unresolved, you can escalate directly to NCAA's Consumer Protection Department with a formal complaint at no cost.
